Payroll Specialist Responsibilities

• End to end processing of monthly payrolls for both Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom for approx. 460 employees
• Calculate all payments due to employees to include commission, bonus, overtime, holiday pay, public holidays for both hourly and salary paid employees
• Maintaining Tax, PRSI and Pension records
• Process new hires, leavers, status changes, tax changes, pay rate changes, allowance and deduction changes on the HR and payroll systems
• Full responsibility for the checking of final payroll outputs which includes payslips and all necessary reports
• Work with pension providers to ensure that both the auto-enrol and group schemes are maintained in line with legislation
• Ensure deduction reports and relevant paperwork are managed to include: Pension, Health Insurance, Bike to Work, Tax Saver Tickets etc.
• Complete forms for employees: salary certificates, mortgage application forms, social welfare forms, tax office, maternity letters etc.
• Month-end and year-end filing with relevant agencies
• Partner with the People team to
  • align accuracy of leave with legislative and company policies
  • update and maintain employees digital files
  • support in ad-hoc duties where required, such as projects, administration, issuing paperwork, reporting duties etc
  • Document payroll processes and procedures and arrange/deliver any training to employees / new managers as required
• Report writing – maintain the current reports used in the business and create new reports based on ad-hoc requests
• Support the Finance Team as and when required and with the collation of data for internal and external auditors
• Continually look at ways to maximise the efficiency and functionality of the HR and Payroll system
• Develop effective relationships with stakeholders and add value on programmes associated with payroll

Candidate profile:

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a payroll capacity; processing payroll in both UK and ROI
• Strong knowledge of Payroll legislation and IPASS qualified
• Experience in Excel (pivot tables/reports, VLOOKUP, charts, graphs, macros and perform data analysis
• Experience in market-leading payroll systems with the opportunity to become part of the implementation decisions
• Experience processing payrolls from start to finish
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• A strong work ethic, ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Strong project management experience and ability to work with colleagues across diverse teams and locations
